The BC Oil and Gas Commission is a member of the B.C. Seismic Research Consortium, which has representatives from GeoscienceBC and Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, with Natural Resources Canada and Alberta Geological Survey as associate members.
The Commission is supportive of induced seismicity research projects at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Natural Resources Canada, University of Calgary, McGill University, Western University and the University of Pittsburgh.
Commission staff are co-authors to several research publications and reports.
The Commission routinely coordinates with operators to explore and implement new induced seismicity mitigation options, and regularly participates in induced seismicity workshops and technical meetings to share info and seek new approaches for responding to and mitigating induced seismicity.
